Could you share more about your role at BRITE? What’s your day-to-day like?
As Director of Business Operations, I touch nearly all of BRITE’s business functions. I’m directly involved in marketing and sales operations, and I work closely with the CEO on designing financial models and charting the company’s short- and long-term goals. In the areas where I’m less involved—technology and product development, for example—I still need to understand the tasks and priorities and whether they are running on time and on budget. It’s my job to identify and target areas for operational improvement that ultimately will benefit our clients.
A typical day for me includes analyzing data and metrics from our CRM and other tracking systems, preparing reports and presentations for our leadership team, and liaising with potential partners and customers. I love having such a wide variety of projects in my role; it means I’m never bored and I’m always learning something new.
What’s most exciting about BRITE expanding globally?
When you work in a large company, it can be challenging to see the impact of your work on customers, or even the company as a whole. That’s not the case for my role at BRITE: I know my individual efforts make a difference. I’ve been at BRITE for a few weeks and it’s been especially exciting to see the rapid growth and the interest from the industry in what we are doing.
What are you looking forward to most about working at BRITE?
First, working with a team of people who are the best at what they do. I’m consistently impressed by the industry knowledge and professional experience of our leadership team.
Second, learning the inner workings of a successful, growing company up close and in detail. I’ve never had this “behind the scenes” view before, let alone been the figurative “person behind the curtain” myself. This opportunity is not something everyone has in their career.
What’s your best advice for anyone that’s taking on a new challenge?
Don’t be afraid to make mistakes and ask questions! That’s how you learn and improve.
Please join us in welcoming Rebekah to BRITE!
